1979 – 1991: Beginnings in Juneau, Alaska

Nestled near the picturesque Tee Harbor in Juneau, Alaska, Tee Harbor Construction, Inc. was brought to life in 1979 by Bill and Carolyn Gonce, who originally hailed from Anaheim, CA.

With a vision to create breathtaking custom homes, the company undertook numerous projects in its early years, including impressive 6,600 sq ft and 8,500 sq ft residences set against the stunning backdrop of the Inside Passage beach. Much of this remarkable work was the handiwork of Bill Gonce himself, who led his dedicated crews in crafting these homes. The era wasn’t rich in specialty subcontractors, which made Bill’s hands-on approach all the more crucial.

Beyond residential constructions, Tee Harbor Construction ventured into the realm of commercial construction.

Their impressive portfolio boasted landmarks such as the governor’s mansion, the capital building, federal office structures, the twin lakes fish pathology lab, the Alaska state museum, and several others.

1992 – 2011: Expanding Horizons in Oregon

The winds of change brought Tee Harbor Construction, Inc. to Bend, Oregon, in the early ’90s. Establishing its headquarters there, the company began crafting custom homes across Bend, Sisters, Redmond, Sunriver, Black Butte, and Post in Oregon.

The legacy of Bill Gonce’s passion for construction was evident in his three sons, who, from a young age, were seen assisting their father, equipped with nail bags.

The company started a second division as a spec builder, building many homes and tracts near the Bend, OR, area.

2012 – 2023: A New Era

The past decade has seen significant transitions for Tee Harbor Construction, Inc. Bill’s son, Chad Gonce, joined the company ranks, initially overseeing projects and gradually taking on more responsibilities. This period marked a significant milestone as Chad transitioned to becoming the sole owner of the company, taking the reins from his retiring father.

Under Chad’s leadership, Tee Harbor Construction, Inc. has maintained its commitment to quality, completing multiple new construction homes annually, each bearing the hallmark of the company’s dedication to excellence.
